هل نشأ الهاتف صدفة وتطور من الحجارة، وهل كان فهم طريقة عمله مغنيا ومنافيا للحكمة منه ولغرض صانعه ومراده؟... فارق بين كيف ومن ولماذا...
إذا لا تظن كون الزلزال خلخلة طبقات وتنفيس تقلبات وصدوعا قشرية يغني عن كونه هناك وفي هذا الوقت له حكمة وغاية وغرض، غرض منه وبه ولفاعله مراد لذاته... وإلا كنت أحمقا...
له نفع للأرض ورسالة للبشر، وبه تدافع يشحذ القرائح..
والتحديات والحاجة هي من أدوات صناعة الحضارة بالحفز... وليس هناك شر مطلق في بركان أو أي ابتلاء...
و يقولون مثلا

• وأما أسبابه: فمن أسبابه انضغاط البخار في جوف الأرض، كما ينضغط الريح والماء في المكان الضيق، فإذا انضغط طلب مخرجًا، فيشق ويزلزل ما قرب منه من الأرض.
• وقال الحافظ ابن قيم الجوزية (ت751هـ):
"ولما كانت الرياح تجول فيها (أي الأرض) وتدخل في تجاويفها وتحدث فيها الأبخرة وتخفق الرياح ويتعذر عليها المنفذ أذن الله سبحانه لها في الأحيان بالتنفس فتحدث فيها الزلازل العظام.
فيحدث من ذلك لعباده الخوف والخشية والإنابة....
